Eco Wave Power has developed an innovative technology that produces clean electricity from ocean and sea waves.

Harnessing that energy for grid-scale electricity production would be a major boon to the clean energy industry, but building durable, powerful, and cost-effective wave energy converters has proven difficult. Mankind uncompromisingly develops more and more new sources of energy. All four elements seemed to have been mastered by restless geniuses: power plants take energy from coal, gas, atom, river water, wind, and sunlight – from everything they learned to extract the very power that gives light, heat, and food. And, sure thing, leaving 70% of the planet undeveloped seemed like blasphemy to energy experts. Scientists say the sea is the world's largest battery; off the coast of the United States alone, the theoretical annual energy potential of the waves is estimated at 2.64 trillion kilowatt-hours, equivalent to about 64% of total US utility electricity generation in 2021.

Scientists say the sea is the world's largest battery; off the coast of the United States alone, the theoretical annual energy potential of the waves is estimated at 2.64 trillion kilowatt-hours, equivalent to about 64% of total US utility electricity generation in 2021.

This action pushes biodegradable hydraulic fluid into on-shore accumulators, converting the wave's kinetic energy into stored hydraulic pressure. Eco Wave Power's innovative approach maximizes wave power extraction while prioritizing environmental sustainability.
The initial phase of the project focuses on developing a 20 MW wave energy power station, starting with a 100 kW pilot and gradually scaling up. Besides generating clean energy, the collaboration is expected to create job opportunities in manufacturing, transportation, construction, and engineering, providing an economic boost for Taiwan.

Comprising a spine, platforms, levers, and a power takeoff, this system is engineered to capture the ocean's kinetic energy. The power takeoff pumps and pressurizes seawater, effectively converting wave energy into usable power. This was proven in a test off Scotland, where sizable waves generated an impressive 140 gigawatts annually.
